Clow Card Reading is a type of oracle. The Clow Cards are used to gain an overview of an issue and primarily to offer guidance. The original deck consisted of 19 cards created by the sorcerer Clow Reed, each embodying a unique power or concept. When adapted into the anime, the deck was expanded to 52 cards and in a movie, there is a 53rd card, this card was introduced to harmonize the deck’s yin and yang energies, all 52 cards embody yang energies, while the 53rd card represents the yin.
In the episode featuring the Mirror card, Sakura—the Cardcaptor—uses the Clow Cards for divination. It’s said that this episode launched the modern era of Clow Card oracle reading.
